Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Setu when you build and run an AI company on setu.company.
Last updated 27 September 2026.
Who we are
Setu (setu.company) is a service provided by Setu, India. In these terms "Setu", "we" and "us" mean Setu; "you" means the person who signs up and the business they sign up for.
Customer support: [email protected] · Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm IST.
By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18. If you use Setu for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
What Setu is
Setu lets you build a company of AI employees: you describe your business, hire AI employees with roles, instructions and spending limits, and connect your own accounts and tools. Setu is a tool that works under your direction; you decide what is approved, sent, published or changed.
AI results and your approval
AI employees are software, not people or legal employees. Their drafts, replies, reports, summaries and calculations can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable, even when they sound sure. Setu does not give legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical or other professional advice; check anything important with a qualified professional.
Nothing leaves your company (an email, WhatsApp message, post, order, payment or change in a connected app) unless it is approved: by you or a team member one by one, or by an automatic approval rule you switched on, such as a trusted tool. When you switch on an automatic rule, matching actions go out without a further check.
You are responsible for everything sent or done with your approval or under your rules, including that it is accurate and lawful and that it follows WhatsApp and email platform rules and India's rules on commercial communications (including consent for promotional messages).
Your account
You sign in with Google. Keep your account secure and tell us at once if you think it is being misused. You may invite team members with roles; you are responsible for their use of your company.
Your content
You keep ownership of your company's content (employees, knowledge, tasks, drafts, approvals, connections) and of the results your AI employees produce for you. You give us a limited licence to host, copy, transmit and process that content only to provide and secure the service for you.
AI model keys, connection tokens and connection strings you give Setu are encrypted at rest and used only to do the work you direct; they are never shown back in full. You can export your company and request permanent deletion of everything Setu holds about it from Settings.
How AI work is done
When an AI employee works on a task, the task text and the documents, knowledge or messages it needs are sent to an AI model provider to produce the result.
Your own key: if you add your own key, the provider you choose (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter or another compatible service) processes this content under its own terms and bills you directly. You are that provider's customer, so check its data settings. Without your own key, runs use Setu's own OpenAI or Anthropic accounts within your plan's limits.
Setu does not use your company's content to train AI models. We cannot control what a provider does under your own key.
Personal data you bring
Data about you and your team (name, email, sign-in and billing details) is ours to protect as the Data Fiduciary. Data about your customers, contacts, suppliers and staff that you upload, or that reaches your AI employees through accounts you connect (emails, WhatsApp messages, orders, documents), is processed for your business: your business is the Data Fiduciary for it and Setu processes it for you as your Data Processor.
For that data you confirm that you have given any notice and obtained any consent the law requires, have the right to connect each account and upload each document, will not upload children's data or health, biometric or financial-account data unless you truly need it and have a lawful basis, and will answer your customers' requests about their data. We will help you with those requests.
For that data we will process it only to provide the service you direct, keep it confidential and secure, give access only to staff and sub-processors who need it under protection duties at least as strong as ours, tell you about a breach as our Privacy Policy describes, and delete it when you delete it or close your account, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Acceptable use
Do not use Setu to break the law; to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages; to impersonate anyone or create deceptive or deepfake content; to publish or send content that is obscene, defamatory, hateful, harmful to children or infringes others' rights; to scrape services against their terms; or to attack or probe systems. Do not try to get around approvals, spending limits or company boundaries. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
If an account breaks these rules we may suspend it. Unless the risk is urgent or the law prevents it, we tell the owner first with our reasons and give a chance to respond, and you can export your company during a suspension.
Plans, trials and payment
New companies get a free trial without a card, and nothing is charged automatically when it ends. Paid plans are paid per 30-day period through our payment provider (Cashfree); add-ons apply to the current period. Plans do not renew or charge by themselves. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
Setu is not currently registered under GST. No GST is charged on Setu plans or add-ons, and the price shown is the full amount you pay. Every payment produces a numbered payment receipt; it is not a GST tax invoice, so input tax credit cannot be claimed on it. If we register for GST we will email account owners in advance and issue tax invoices from then on; any change to what you pay applies only from your next period.
Refunds are covered by our refund policy page.
Availability and limits
We work to keep Setu available and your data safe, and we run monitoring and backups, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Plans include limits on active employees and runs per period. Messaging and other outside services you connect are billed by those providers on your own accounts.
Liability and indemnity
Setu is provided as is. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the fees you paid Setu in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
You will compensate us for losses from third-party claims caused by your content, by actions you or your approval rules approved, or by your breach of the law or these terms.
Changes and ending the service
We email the account owner at least 15 days before a material change to these terms takes effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using Setu before then and we refund the unused part of your current period. You can stop using Setu at any time and delete your company. We may end the service for an account that breaks these terms, as described under Acceptable use.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a dispute with us, please write to our Grievance Officer first; we will try in good faith to settle it within 30 days. Courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction.
Nothing in these terms stops anyone who is a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 from approaching a Consumer Commission. Events outside reasonable control excuse delay while they last; if a part of these terms is unenforceable the rest still applies.
